The goal of the project is to contribute to the reduction of poverty in the hilly regions of Nepal by strengthening community-based organizations (CBOs) through economic and social development. The project is being implemented in the Mid and Far Western Districts: Jumla, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Surkhet, and Dailekh. It contributed to the communities’ increased decision-making power to exercise their rights and entitlements. They were able to put more demand and get more resources set aside for them from the larger national level Local Governance and Community Development Program. - There was an increased in the number of projects Community Based Organizations got from Village Development Committees, 1,483 compared to 387 from the year before. - The amount of project fund accessed increased from Nepalese Rupees 41,218,559 compared to Nepalese Rupees 32,350,907 from the year before. -Community Based Organizations were encouraged by the project to bring in more women and disadvantaged members in to their organisation. Sahakarya Gender Equality and Social Inclusion tools and strategies were helpful to achieve this objective.
