China’s contribution covers local costs such as land and civil works, equipment, and salaries of staff. This project is part of Canada’s overall support to the reform process in China. The exchange of knowledge and experience not only strengthens policymaking in China, it increases professional linkages and understanding between Canada and China and contributes to social equity and good governance. The project aims to strengthen Chinese policy-makers’ ability to formulate and implement policies in the areas of environmental sustainability, human rights, democratic development, and good governance. Activities include roundtables, study tours, focused training, action research, seminars, and other learning events. | Closed | 2005-10-24T00:00:00 | 2013-12-31T00:00:00 | ["China 100.00%"] | Alinea International Ltd | ["Public sector policy and administrative management 100.00%"] | 13648353.93 | Results as of March 2011 include: Canadian technical assistance led to the establishment of a National Women's Education and Training System, aimed at increasing the literacy rate of rural women and improving public awareness of gender equality.
